Are there any plans in the future to move the email based discussion list to a forum based system with e-mail subscription per topics?
Thank you

I don't believe we were planning to do that. There's not much message volume.

Why would anyone want to do that?
Email lists work very well for those of us who don't have time to go checking forums

... and since this one thread has now, in the space of less than 40 minutes, generated more traffic than the whole list has for the past several months, this sounds like a solution looking for a problem....

Not a big deal. I didn't mean to cause a riot.
I can see if from your point of view too, especially if volume is really low.
However I am sure that email subscription per topic category is available and topics would be indexed which allow for easier searching later.
Thanks! KM

Lets move on not a big deal. In the future more online collaboration forms will move to the web. Email lists will be good for mass emailings and announcements. Thanks KM

It's a common misconception by occasional users of a support list that it should be organised for their convenience. It's actually far more important that it be organised for the resident experts' convenience, because if the experts don't use it, it won't be particularly useful for the newbies.

this would require a topic just for defining topics:)
since different people search in different ways for different things, leaving the classification (indexing or whatever) and search to the recipient side is flexible and convenient for most people.
