I believe you mentioned you were using Exim - there is a method of directly integrating URIBL/SURBL - which is (actively) maintained by Erik Mugele.

Ah, sorry - came in part-way through. Erik's method is a very effective way of integration with Exim, I hope Robert might give it another try. The exim-users list will support him if he needs it.
